Vitakruid Collagen sol wing tablets with vitamin C and D
Collagen: essential for body tissues
Collagen is an important protein, accounting for about 30% of the total protein mass in our body. It is present in various tissues such as skin, tendons, cartilage, muscles and blood vessels. Although our body makes its own collagen, production gradually decreases after the age of 25. This can lead to reduced skin elasticity, resulting in fine lines and wrinkles.
Sources of collagen
Collagen occurs naturally in the skin, bones, cartilage and tendons of animals. You can increase your collagen intake by eating fish with skin or drinking bone broth.
You can also support the body's own production of collagen by paying attention to certain nutrients:
- Amino acids: these building blocks of collagen are found in animal products such as meat, fish, poultry and eggs, and in plant foods such as legumes, grains and nuts.
- Vitamin C: this vitamin is essential for collagen production and can be found in foods such as citrus fruits, strawberries, peppers and broccoli.
Optimal absorption through hydrolysed collagen peptides
Collagen is derived from animal sources, usually fish or beef. To produce our collagen, gelatine is first extracted from bovine skin. The collagen peptides are then hydrolysed into smaller molecules of about 3.3 kilodaltons, allowing them to be better absorbed by the body. This process is done using natural enzymes, which cut the amino acid chains into smaller pieces.
99% pure collagen
Our product consists of no less than 99% pure collagen, as it does not contain any unnecessary additives. We have also chosen collagen type I, this is because 90% of the collagen in our body consists of this type.
High-quality amino acid profile
Protein is made up of amino acids. There are 22 types of these building blocks, each with a slightly different function. Collagen consists of 18 of these amino acids, with proline, glycine and hydroxyproline being the main components.
Glycine, proline and hydroxyproline
The main amino acids in collagen are amply represented in Collagen Solugel® tablets. Thus, the collagen peptides are rich in glycine and proline, and hydroxyproline is also abundant. The latter amino acid is characteristic of collagen, as compared to other proteins, collagen consists largely of hydroxyproline.
Solugel®: frontrunner in collagen
After extensive research, we chose Solugel®, a highly sustainable and clinically tested nutrient developer.
Pure and easily absorbed
Solugel® offers a pure product consisting of 99% pure collagen. It is also highly absorbable: it was found in the bloodstream as early as 15 minutes after ingestion.
Sustainable & animal-friendly
Solugel® is also the best choice in terms of sustainability and animal friendliness. Their grass-fed cattle are raised on animal-friendly farms in Argentina, without hormones or antibiotics. Collagen is made from the skin of these animals, a component that would otherwise go unused. Also, all raw materials are fully traceable thanks to official certificates of origin.
Collagen Solugel® tablets
Collagen Solugel® is now also available in user-friendly tablets. The effect of collagen in tablet form is the same as in powder form. There is no mess with powder, so ideal if you are in a hurry or on the go. The collagen tablets are coated with a layer that prevents them from coming into contact with the taste buds in the mouth. As a result, the tablets are flavourless.
